Rush Bros – Game Analysis and Review

An interesting game that blends together several genres to produce a somewhat unique game, Rush Bros uses your MP3’s to create unique gameplay routes and courses.
GRAPHICS:
One thing Rush Bros. definitely has going for it is its looks. The levels themselves are psychedelic techno eye candy with gorgeous, vibrant backdrops. It’s actually a shame that the background is so nice looking, because I wish I could spend more time looking at that than avoiding Rush Bros.’ hazards. The constant onslaught of colors actually gets to be too much. Rush Bros. isn’t a game I can sit down and play for hours, let alone just one hour because my eyes got tired to the point where I needed to stop. It’s harder to go back and play knowing I won’t be able to play very long, and it also probably kept me from playing the game as much as I would like.
GAMEPLAY:
Tight controls and controller support help the gameplay stand out and make it much more accessible to keep up with the fast-paced speed of the game. The addition of local and online multiplayer keeps it fresh and fun to play with friends. The ability to change music on the fly helps change the pace, but at the end of the day, the gameplay wears thin quickly and offers little in terms of variety and replay value. Unless the song chosen is upbeat, it is often hard to notice a difference in how the level as a whole is affected.
MULTIPLAYER:
This game shines in the multiplayer department as it mixes up the action. It can also get pretty frantic when two players are involved in the madness. I will say I enjoyed the multiplayer more than the single player aspect myself.
OVERALL:
The developers try some new ideas in Rush Bros that moving forward could potentially become game changers. That being said, if you want a game you can memorize and impress friends who are unfamiliar with the game, Rush Bros is the perfect platformer for you. Music lovers and DJs that are gamers will particularly enjoy playing with the settings and seeing what kind of ways they can challenge themselves with their own favorites or remixes! Rush Bros is available on Steam for $9.99, or $14.99 for the gift pack so you can have your own copy, and also gift the game to a friend if you so choose.
