UFC 199: Rock hold vs. Bisping 2 – Results, News and Videos

On Saturday night, June 4th, the UFC invaded the same arena where the late great boxing icon and legend Muhammad Ali defeated Ken Norton to win the NABF Heavyweight title nearly 33 years ago, The Forum in Inglewood, California. The event was supposed to feature a rematch for the UFC Middleweight Championship between former champ Chris Weidman and current title holder Luke Rockhold but injury forced Weidman off of the card and Michael Bisping was a late addition to the card. In the co-main event of the evening, one of the P4P badasses of mixed martial arts Dominick Cruz put his UFC Bantamweight Title on the line in a grudge rubber match against long-time rival Urijah Faber. Also on the main card of the event was a striking track meet featuring Max Holloway versus Ricardo Lamas and a middleweight clash between super-strikers Dan Henderson and Hector Lombard. The evening’s pay-per-view portion of the event kicked off with lightweights, as Dustin Poirier put his three-fight winning streak on the line against Bobby Green.
UFC 199 – News and Notes from the Event:
– Brock Lesnar will be returning to the Octagon at UFC 200, his opponent is expected to be announced in the coming days.
– Nate Diaz vs Conor McGregor 2 was announced as the headlining bout for UFC 202 in August.
– The UFC announced that two-time UFC tournament champion Don “The Predator” Frye has been named to the 2016 UFC Hall of Fame class as a Pioneer.
