Final Fantasy Social Network Game

 

 

Square Enix, in partnership with DeNA – a Japanese social-network developer – are developing a Final Fantasy game with a central social component. Familiar characters from the Final Fantasy series will be included, and according to the Andriasang blog, it will be an RPG where you fight for friends on the network. Starting today, Japanese players will be able to register. Additionally, gamers who buy Final Fantasy Type-0 will have access to special content.

 

 

 

 

 

Early Vita Access

 

 

Though the PlayStation Vita already has its release date on February 22nd, 2011, some fans will have the opportunity to buy the system one week early, by buying the console in a bundle. In an announcement on the PlayStation Blog, the Vita First Edition is being touted as hitting the market February 15th in Canada and in the US. The US version, priced at $349, includes a 3G version of the portable, while the $299 Canadian version is Wi-Fi only. Along with the devices themselves, the bundles will include a PS Vita, a copy of Little Deviants, a 4GB Memory Card, and a limited-edition case.

Grand Theft Auto V?

 

 

If the announcement “#GTAV” through Twitter is any indication, it seems as though developer Rockstar has another Grand Theft Auto installment on the horizon. The tweet links to the project’s main web page, which includes a logo for Grand Theft Auto V, as well as a November 2nd release date for the game’s official trailer.

 

 

 

 

 

SoulCalibur V Mad Catz

 

 

Namco Bandai’s upcoming SoulCalibur V is receiving its own Mad Catz FightStick, with a button layout specifically designed for the game’s mechanics. The device, which should retail for about $150, is shipping for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles alongside copies of the game on January 31st, 2012. The device will have a translucent body, as well as stylistic flourishes that should fall in with SoulCalibur’s aesthetic.

New PSP Bundle for the Holidays

 

 

With one holiday season left on its hourglass as the PlayStation Vita closes in, the Sony PSP is hitting the market in a new bundle on November 15th, this time packaged with FIFA 2012. For $160, gamers can receive a bundle that includes not only the console and the aforementioned game, but a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo and a voucher for the downloadable Cars 2: The Video Game.

 

 

 

 

 

Sonic News & Notes

 

 

At Sega’s Paris Games Week panel, producer Takashi Iizuka confirmed that the original Sonic the Hedgehog will be an unlockable bonus game in the upcoming Sonic Generations. Additionally, Steam has announced that those who pre-order Generations using their service will receive free copies of the classic games Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Sonic Generations’ official release date is November 1st for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The 3DS version hits stores on November 22nd.

Gears of War 3 Xbox Live Issues

 

 

Despite the generally glowing reviews and high sales figures of the title, gamers have been increasingly experiencing freezing issues while playing Gears of War 3. The problems generally involve frozen loading screens, and subsequent lockouts from game modes of any kind on Xbox Live. According to Epic Games, the developer is “Working with Microsoft, [quality assurance] and the community” to pinpoint the glitch and repair it with a title update.

 

 

 

 

 

Hey atleast Tiger Woods still has EA

 

 

Despite Tiger Woods’ recent personal scandals and decline in worldwide golfing rankings, EA has confirmed that he will remain the title athlete of their PGA Tour 13 game. Woods will indeed appear on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2013, flanked by Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy.
