New GTA V Trailer Delayed by Hurricane Sandy
The reach of hurricane Sandy seemingly knows no bounds, as it recently hit the offices of New York-based developer Rockstar. Power outages have nixed the company’s plans to unveil a second trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V. According to an official statement from Rockstar, “We are working on a second trailer–unfortunately Hurricane Sandy has derailed our plans somewhat but we will have something to show soon…It’s hard to be precise as we have no power whatsoever in our New York office. We hope everyone else in affected areas is doing okay.” Due in stores in Spring 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will open the gates for pre-orders on November 5th.
ShootMania Storm – January 2013
Nadeo’s upcoming online first-person shooter ShootMania Storm has just been assigned a release date of January 23rd, 2013. A second beta phase, implementing tournament creation and 3D object imports, is also in the works and scheduled to run this September. Much akin to TrackMania, ShootMania allows players to create their own maps and game modes, and then share them with the online community. Publisher Ubisoft claims that the map count has already risen past 20,000, with 15 different user-created game modes to date.

Portal 2 and PlayStation Move News
The endlessly addictive Portal 2 is finally receiving PlayStation Move support for free next week on November 6th (a digital version of Portal 2 on PSN will also drop on that day). The newly implemented motion-control system will extend to both the single player and co-operative campaigns, and though it will be free, additional “In Motion” DLC material is on the way, priced reasonably at $10. Apparently, this downloadable content is just the beginning of new motion-supportive bells and whistles for the contemporary classic.
Halo 4 Soundtrack Breaking Records
Though Halo 4 represents a clear break from tradition in its hiring of music composer Neil Davidge (I Am Legend, Clash of the Titans) over franchise regular Martin O’Donnell, that has not stopped Davidge’s work from soaring to the top of the Billboard 200 list – debuting at number 50. Now wedged between two music titans (The Killers and Barbara Streisand), the soundtrack for Halo 4 has exceeded the sales of any game soundtrack in history. The Xbox 360-exclusive Halo 4 hits stores worldwide on November 6th.

No Sons of Anarchy for Consoles?
In a sad development for bearded, tattooed miscreants everywhere (or at the very least their fans), showrunner Kurt Sutter’s dreams of bringing his gritty Shakespearean Harleys n’ guns FX cable series to the medium of video games has been crushed by the powers that be. According to Sutter’s Twitter update, “I’m done…No interest from industry, little support from Fox. It B dead.” Never say never.
Lego: Lord of the Rings Confirmed
In an announcement that is sure to surprise no one, Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy is being adapted to Lego form for TT Games’ Lego: Lord of the Rings for PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC. Using dialogue from the films, the upcoming game will follow the storylines from the film, and incorporate all of that material into a single game. This approach differs from that of the Lego Harry Potter games, which split its narrative events into two volumes. The North American release date of Lego: Lord of the Rings is November 13th, with the UK version to follow on November 23rd.
